Splinter. No contest. Besides, his kids could beat Shifu's kids any day of the week.

Shifu !  Simply, if you watch show you will see how fast he is , and for such a small animal his kicks are really strong,  in first movie he couldnt win the fight because its not easy to fight with somebody who you used to love ,but in second movie did you see how did he fight.

and that is why  i think Shifu will win .

Splinter ,yeah kinda he is strong, but he is tall like humans, and how much i see everybody says that he was amazing in movies, but all forgot one of the first movies, when they got Splinter that easy , i dont wanna sound bad , but simply if we are talking how they were in movie , lets not forgot all movies.

Shifu beat the Furious Five easily and he said: "Good job ... If you wanted to disappoint me!"

because he is hottest?
seriously, shifu is too "closed mind" when it comes to fight and doesn't use weapons. splinter is more creative and is taller than him.
In addition, personally, I think ninjutsu is better than kung fu. personally.

That is one of his moves (Even Po used it against Tai Lung), You can't say that is cheating... unless one of them gets outside help for example.

Yes. But the question is - we're counting as if they know abaut the other's powers and weaknesses or not?

shifu hes light on his feet and can take the enemy by surprise and with his big ears he can locate an open or know an attack befores its coming

It might be an interesting battle.  But Master Splinter wins for one big reason - He can think on his feet.

Shifu is too rigidly set in his form and fighting techniques.  Sure he outmatches the Furious Five.  But both free-spirited Po and Shifu's enemies kick his tail on a regular basis.

Splinter adjusts his style, takes advantage of his surroundings and isn't afraid to get creative in his fighting methods in order to win a fight.  Plus he's nearly undefeated in actual battle.

Sorry to just drop in like this, but does Shifu have ANY feats more impressive than what we've seen in the first movie? I've only seen parts of the second movie and some scenes from the series, but overall I was not impressed by what I saw. Plus, like you said, I heard that he gets his ass kicked a lot.

Eh, just some pretty "inner peace" form movement that might impress Leonardo.  Po later uses this form.... far more creatively than Shifu ever thought of.

My position still stands - Shifu's just not mentally flexible enough to beat Splinter.

I see. So beyond the first movie he doesn't have any good feats? What a shame.

If he does, I haven't seen them.  I've only sat through about seven of the series eps at best.  The whole "It's all about Po" got too annoying to bother with.

Ah, so there still might be hope.......keyword being "might". Like I said, I read some info on the series and saw a couple of fight scenes and Shifu really didn't do much except get his ass kicked and needing Po to save the day. Kung Fu Panda Wiki didn't help much either. The only special thing about Shifu that's mentioned is the Wuxi Finger Hold.....which he never uses, even when the circumstances call for it. -_-

*checks movie clips*  Looks like we see the move twice.  Aaannnd... unless it can be done *FAR* more quickly than it's presented, Shifu isn't going to get the chance to use it.  I'd wager that even Po would be knocked on his rear before pulling it off.

Actually the move is used three times - in the series Po grabs Tai Lung's nephew's finger but doesn't go through with it since he didn't want to kill him. He comments how it was a reflex. Though again, it's Po who uses it, not Shifu.

For every team of heroes, there's always the wise master who teaches them the ways of the arts.

Don't forget that they can kick butt just as well like Shifu, Grandmaster and Trainer of the Furious Five.

And Splinter, Master of Ninjitsu and trainer of the TMNT.

He's Wiz and I'm boomstick.

And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.

This would be a legitimately good idea to send to screwattack for a match up.
I personally would go with shifu since he know notably more moves and uses his size as an advantage for close combat even against opponents with long range skill.

Wow, what a matchup! I think they'd be too even normally if the right "generation" version of Splinter is being used.

So my decision on this one is going to be the same that was used in the first tournament in "Dragonball".

Both of them attempt to deliver a fatal strike to each other at the exact same time, but Splinter wins because he's taller and his blow goes deeper.

Klar Master Shifu

Aber im vergleich zum 2012 Splinter, dann Splinter.

Imo it's a tie, but at times Shifu loses his calm and that may be the slight edge Splinter needs to win.

As much as I love them both, I have to go with Shifu for his strength and speed. I can also see them both as really good friends with respect for one another. Why would they fight?

Well, seeing that its 2003 Splinter, he has battled shredder, competed in the battle nexus and won, and has beat countless other super villains. He has more experience over all.

OK, my nerdy moment is over now, lol
